I bet deciding on a good laptop/desktop would be a tough decision on getting this emulator to run smoothly wouldn't it? Especially on a tight budget lol...

For 2d games in PCSX2, you need ~800. So you might play like e.g. Ar tonelico.
Light 3d games need ~1200
Moderate games need ~1500
Heavy games can need 2000+
There are very few AMD cpus that can handle PCSX2. And none that really can without overclocking. Unfortunate I know, but that's how it is. Sorry.
Is that accurate? I seen many "heavy" games use up 3 cores easily. That's having a 3rd gen intel at 4.2ghz

Core usage is never 100% because of each chip having to be in sync with one another. 3 slow cores is worse than 2 moderately fast cores for that reason.
