Can you play with a Wii controller and a guitar?
#1
I have been trying to get my wii guitar to work on the emulator to no avail.

The emulator detects the controller just fine, even if I connect a nunchuk it detects it, the problem comes when I connect a guitar, the emulator says "wii remote connected with unknown extension".

The buttons on the wiiremote respond just fine, its just the guitar that doesnt respond.

Im connecting to the PC (Win11) via bluetooth and using the latest PCSX2 build; also, hardwaretest doesnt detect the wiiremote.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had the same problem when I was setting up my Wii guitar with the emulator. For me, using Zadig to install the right drivers for the Wii Remote on Windows sorted things out. Also, I had to manually set the extension to "Guitar" in the emulator’s controller settings because auto-detect wasn’t doing the trick, even though the Wiimote itself was connected fine.

Cool, I'll give it a try. Will report findings.

Thanks.

Edit:
I found this on reddit:

"zadig fully replaces device drivers. Device drivers are how Windows knows how to use your devices. Unfortunately, when you use zadig to get Wii remotes to work in Dolphin, Dolphin (and other programs programmed to work with the same drivers) is the only thing that knows what to do with your Bluetooth device. There’s nothing you can do to have both at the same time. If you need to be able to use other Bluetooth accessories with other programs, you’ll need to use Device Manager to uninstall the zadig drivers, then reinstall the drivers that your Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card came with. This, of course, means that Wii remotes won’t work with Dolphin again. You’ll need to install the zadig drivers again to use Wii remotes again."

Is this true? I use bluetooth for my xbox controller and other stuff. It would be a pain to install and unistall the drivers everytime I want to use them.

Have you tried using a different emulator like Dolphin? It tends to have better support for Wii accessories, including guitars.
