Cannot create Save State
#1
RIght, I'm new here and I think I am in the correct subforum, so please excuse me if I am totally lost.

Right, I finally got my PSCX2 emulator to work (v0.9.7) with Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories. But as I try to save (Using Save States) I get the error:

File could not be created of opened
Path: D:\blardiblar (the correct path)\sstates\00000000.000

I don't know what's wrong, and I also don't know which information you might need to help me, but I'll help as much as I'm able to!

Thanks in advance

Nope, did not work. I have never had any problems with admin rights. :/

Okay, as a temporary solution (but I really do love save states D; ). How do I format my memory cards? I have checked around most settings and I just can't find any FORMAT button!

run with no disc, and format it through the PS2 bios.
like you would do on your PS2

seen the emulator is not finding the game's correct CRC, verify the log.

Windows 7 64 bit

D:\Downloads\AAA Småskit\pcsx2-0.9.7-r3878-binaries\

Edit: File/Object: D:\Downloads\AAA Småskit\pcsx2-0.9.7-r3878-binaries\sstates\00000000.000 is the path it saves to

Uh, do you want me to just Copypaste the log, or what?

Yourself could verify it in the log, but it's OK to post the log results here.

The CRC information is seen a few lines bellow the bold highlighted one about

(SYSTEM.CNF) Detected PS2 Disc = ..... with the actual cdrom as seen by the emulator and the SLUS or SCUS or whatever the game's region.

That CRC is what is used for the sstate name and even for cheat pnaches and is given in hexadecimal "0x......." 8 digits where the dots and should not be all zeroes.

PS: unrelated but informative, CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) is not a random generated number but calculated second specific algorithm, if it is missing the ISO is corrupted someway and must be ripped again from the original disc.
