Cannot get Widescreen patches to work!

You might have a screwy version of PCSX2. Try the latest build.

Config > Emulation Settings > GS Window > Aspect Ratio

Well so far i've tried Kingdom hearts, FFX, FFXII and The Warriors. All of them have the same issue. The console window says the widescreen hacks are loaded and it should be working, but it just isnt. I remember i tried FFX last year on PCSX2 and it definitely did work in 16:9 with the patch. Im doing everything i did back then yet its not working :/

I also have a bug where if i change the location of the folder that the emulator is in (like, drag it to my desktop) all audio stops. I have to remove the emulator completely and redo all my settings. Dont think thats connection to the widescreen issue but still...i dont think my pc wants me to play PCSX2 :/

Can you try version 1.2.1 instead and see if it works there?
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.60~4.20 GHz | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3200
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super @ 6 GB | Samsung 980 1TB | Windows 10 Pro x64 (22H2)

The widescreen hacks ARE working, it's the aspect ratio that isn't. It's stuck in 4:3.

Maybe try deleting everything in the INIS folder.

Also, use an independent build in a single folder, don't use any shortcuts or the PCSX2 installed in Program Files.

Alright i installed that and tried that. Exact same issue. It says the widescreen patches are found and applied in the console window, yet its still 4:3 in game, no matter what aspect ratio i set. Thank you for the help though

Alright i tried deleting the ini folder, it asked me to redo the plugins and bios and that. I did that and it still seems to be the same. When i press F6 it visibly changes the window, but the aspect ratio is still 4:3. I am also running it directly form the exe, not a shortcut. Thank you for the help as well, this is really frustrating me :/

Can you take a screenshot of when 'it visibly changed' and post it for comparison here?

Sure, HERE (http://i.imgur.com/AfWmZ9U.jpg) Is it when set to 16:9.

HERE (http://i.imgur.com/SQMa0IJ.jpg) Is it when set to 4:3. See how its actually the same resolution just smushed? Its exactly the same when widescreen patches are enabled or disabled. I dont see any more of the screen and it reacts the same way. 4:3 just smushes the image while kepeing the same aspect ratio.

Actually it's functioning fine in the 16:9 screenshot.

I just went and checked that area to see if it looks similar:

How come its like that whether Widescreen patches are ticked or not? Even if i remove the zip file and all traces of the patches, it looks like that. Same with Final Fantasy X. Im sure wiescreen patches exist for Kingodm hearts and FFX because ive seen youtube vids of people playing them in 16:9 :/

If you're playing a fan-translation of KH: Final Mix, if I remember correctly, it automatically comes with 16:9.

As for FFX, no clue.
