Cannot select DX10/DX11
#1
Hello there,

I'm using PSCX2 0.9.7 and my video plugin is GSDX 0.1.16. I'm using an ATI Radeon HD 5700, which has both DX10 and DX11 compatibility. DX11 is installed. I'm also running on Windows Vista. It is my understanding that I should be able to select Direct3D10 hardware mode on GSDX 0.1.16 but currently the only option I'm getting is Direct3D9. Any idea what could be causing the problem?

Thanks!

DirectX should be updated but Vista SP2 is not installed yet since I just reformated, could that be causing the problem? Guess I should probably install SP2 asap anyways

Install all of the stuff at the top of this page and it should work just fine, and yes you do need sp2.

Simpy check if your vista is Service Pack 2 and check for DirectX latest updates with video card updated drivers. Depending on the GS Plugin you will see Direct3D10 on GSDX after you checked all the requirements

@ki2995ko Whats you gpu? Your gpu also needs to support dx10 in order to use it.

Just installed SP2 as well as everything on the top of this page. D3D10 still doesn't show up. Sad. When I try to install this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...laylang=en (3rd download on the GSDX thread) it says ''this update does not apply to your computer''. Everything else seems to work fine. Might be because I'm running Vista 64 bits?

Now that I've installed everything on this page DX should be up to date as well. My drivers should be good too since I just got this card 2 weeks ago and installed all the newest drivers then.

Ty for the help so far anyways, I'll try some stuff and keep you updated, go ahead if you have any ideas about what could be causing this.

Switched to GSDX 1.14 and DX10 is working on that so I'll be using it until I find a more permanent solution. Just verified everything again, I have SP2 installed, am running Vista 64 Bits and have DirectX10 installed. I am using an ATI Radeon HD 5700 and drivers are up to date as of today. When I try to install http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...laylang=en (3rd download on the GSDX thread), it says ''This update does not apply to your system''. GSDX 1.16 will not allow me to use DX10 but GSDX 1.14 is working.
