Cannot select GS file on start up
#1
I just changed my OS from LinuxMint 19.1 to Debian 10. Everything worked perfectly fine on Mint but now on Debian I can't make it past the configuration screen. When I installed it from the repos it said that a couple of the dependencies weren't able to be satisfied but I can't find what those dependencies are to resolve them. Anyone any idea what I should do?

The GS plugin is the one that doesn't appear in the window even though it exists in the directory

- What version of PCSX2 are you using (How did you install it?)
- Which Desktop did you install?
Tired of always changing your PCSX2 Configuration for different games?

Ah, there's an unstable build in the Debian repo? Interesting. If you navigate on the site you posted, you'll find some information here: https://packages.debian.org/buster/pcsx2

Are these dependencies installed? What exactly do you get if you run PCSX2 from Terminal?

Ahh, the GTK stuff... I had the same issue on mint aswell Wink

Fortunately, I've documented it for myself what was needed, install these:

- sudo apt install gtk2-engines-pixbuf:i386
- sudo apt install gtk2-engines-murrine:i386
- sudo apt install gnome-themes-extra:i386
- sudo apt install libatk-adaptor:i386
- sudo apt install libgail-common:i386

After that, these messages should go away and you should be able to do your configurations.

I installed those packages, I'm not getting any errors when I launch PCSX2 from terminal but I'm still unable to select the GS thing. Sad

Weird. Maybe the package you installed is not complete? Can you try to purge it, add this PPA (Official from PCSX2 Homepage): https://launchpad.net/%7Epcsx2-team/+arc...csx2-daily and install it from there? (IDK if it works, because it's meant for ubuntu, but might be worth a try,!!be careful, might break your packets so your own risk!!)

Can you reproduce the issue when you install the latest stable (1.4.0) from repo? I think it should also be in the debian repo?

I wasn't able to add the ppa (ppa's are p hard to add on debian). I also tried to install 1.4.0 from the repo but it wouldn't launch properly. The window opened very briefly and then closed again almost immediately

Would it be a good idea to try to build 1.4 from source?
