Cant get anything to work. pcsx2-r5350 has stopped working
#1
Hello, I just downloaded the newest version of this on my laptop. It used to work perfectly, then I got a new SSD and have put windows 8 64 bit on and now I get this message when trying to even get to the bios!:
pcsx2-r5350.exe has stopped working.

If I select an iso, all I get is a black screen and nothing else. Selecting no disc and just trying to boot the BIOS brings up the error message and closes. I have all the settings set to default currently but I also tried all the included GS plugins with D3D9 and 11, sofware and hardware and the null plugin. They all do the same thing. Here is the log when I boot the bios.

May not be the immediate cause but you should start reinstalling PCSX2 in another folder, like one you create yourself. C:\Games would be fine, for example, or even in another disc/partition like D:\...

Don't be surprised if this alone solves a lot of problems, actual or in near future. This is valid for PC games also, mainly those using plugins and/or mods.

The reason is Windows treats those folders exceptionally and has increased "security" for applications running from them and may silently block access rights to resources. This almost certainly if UAC is on as well.

Now, you didn't actually answered the first Saiki's question. Is not enough you think your DirectX us up to date, that version that comes with windows 7 is old and even the versions most games install are old as well.
Do that install from the links provided on the first install, they point you toward the latest DirectX and be aware than despite having DX10 you must have and updated DirectX 9.0c too.

The above is paramount, DirectX is backward compatible, meaning you still can play games made with old directX SDK versions but an old runtime can't play programs created with the latest SDK.

Yeah what noiseken said...

Try and DL some DX redistributable packages for your OS and see if that fixes anything ...
Also... use pcsx2 as an portable app and don't install it in the system folders also for the reason noiseken stated ...

good luck,

make sure it is using your geforce card and not the intel one that is probably built in to your cpu. (although it looks like it probably is)

other than that, make sure all your drivers, including your nvidia ones are up to date. Dont check windows update for them, get them from nvidia's website and use the intel driver update utility for everything else.
