Clicking mouse button on lilypad crashes emulator

I've been setting up the mouse for use as the left joystick, problem is when i hit the "mouse button" (which i bound to the middle button) the emulator freezes(though it does release the mouse ), I'm using the windows messaging api, though the problem persists in the other api's. The emulation just freezes and when i try to exit the whole program freezes.

I don't really know what other information i can provide, when i start without mouse focus the mouse button doesn't do anything...
