I have a quick question about using component cables. It’s probably a dumb question but when I use my PS2 when hooked up with component cables my tv stays in AV mode and I’m only able to switch to component it seems when playing games that feature progressive scan modes. I’m just wondering if that’s normal or not.

Maybe something wrong with your setup. For me, I switch to component mode on my TV
and it stay in component mode at all time on my TV when I use component cable on my PS2.
