I had a problem with PCSX2 crashing every 15-30 minutes with the infamous 'PCSX2 has stopped working' message for a while. Using Windows 8 I found another thread with a Windows 8 user experiencing the same problem and it had to do with the sound plugin module. We switched it from XAudio 2 to DirectSound and that solved the problem, so if all else fails you can try that.
