Controller Issue

Hello everyone.im new here.. i want to ask about something regarding the controller... Ive had this issue where whenever i play a story mode.. i cannot move to right,left,front,back,up,down.. however when i play like vs mode,or duel mode... the button works with or without analog. i've just wondered whats the cause of it.. plugin or faulty iso?

pcsx2 0.9.8
Lilypad svn 1.10.0(r4510)
games having the problem is
-Dragon Ball Bodukai 3
-Naruto ultimate ninja 5
