Controller input issues

Ok,i'm sure that in hindsight i'm going to feel like an idiot but i can't figure out how to get my amazon special usb controller to bind to an input. It is recognized under the device diagnostics portion under controller plugin settings as a DX USB Controller and all the inputs seem to be mapped correctly by default but for the life of me i can't see where i set that device under a controller input. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the Pad 1 tab of the controllers plugin settings menu, click on the buttons and press the corresponding button on your USB controller. That's all you should need to do.
