BTW the characters in Amplitude have SPS - and they have forever. But I guess that's known.

I'm not sure what you mean. How much older should I get than 1.2.1? I've used hundreds of old builds and all of them had the same problem with Amplitude (these bugs aren't new to me). I'll try 1.0 if you want?

I was unable to reproduce the video crapping out but the spiky polygons are still present. and the black boxes around the character are still present as well.

Uh just to check:

You don't have async mix checked in SPU2 config do you? I was having a very similar bug to this once in Amplitude and it turned out to be that.

As far as the SPS - it's been there literally as long as Amplitude has worked in PCSX2.

No, I use timestretch.

Does the fact that the Spiky Polygons have been an issue for a long time take away the fact that its still an issue that needs fixing? Happy

There's still the black boxes around the character too. Mind you in only DirectX 9 HW mode but still there none the less.

This might not be of much help, but it's worth noting that the NTSC-U magazine demo of Amplitude doesn't suffer from SPS. Even though it looks somewhat different from the final game, the demo uses practically the same game engine and could be worth comparing against the final version.

The first set of attached screenshots are from the demo, while the second set is from the final game.

The following magazine demo discs contain Amplitude's demo:
  • KIOSK Demo Disc 2.9 (NTSC-U) [SCUS-97261] [7656425F]
  • Jampack Demo Disc - Summer 2003 [T-Rated] (NTSC-U) [SCUS-97280] [7656425F]
  • Jampack Demo Disc - Summer 2003 [M-Rated] (NTSC-U) [SCUS-97281] [7656425F]
  • Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc 067 (NTSC-U) [SCUS-97242] [7656425F]
  • Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc 104 (NTSC-U) [SCUS-97532] [7656425F]

Can anybody confirm whether or not SPS is still present in current git? If everything checks out, I'll close this later.
