Crashing when trying to load save state

Things took a turn to the weird:
Controller not responding during skill menu is definitely an issue with Lilypad. Switching to a different plugin fixed it for me.
Save states are able to be loaded only if I use the "pause-resume" options. That way the game does not crash.
