DS2 controller with HDE Branded USB PC Adapter
#1
Just got the HDE USB to PC adapter to use my DS2 controller with PCSX2 but when mapping the inputs I noticed that I can only map the left joystick or dpad but not both. Testing in Windows, I can see that the left joystick and dpad act the same which explains the behavior in PCSX2. Is this ok or will some games be unplayable? I’m not a PS2 guru so I’m not sure if there are games in which both do different things. Are there any adapters that anyone has tried that register the dpad/left joystick sperately?

It’s always on, I’m not able to turn it off.

You should be able to switch it on and off, if you can't I'd say your adapter isn't very good :/

But the symptoms you have are the same as having that button turned off.

Easier option - just buy a cheap PS3 controller (I have Non DS3 and Full DS3 pads). Plug in USB cable/Blue tooth adaptor and go here..

https://sourceforge.net/projects/scptoolkit.mirror/

Alternately - HERE.. works fine but you just need to adjust where your left thumb goes - Prefer X360 pad for emulation and bigger size(Large hands you see)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-POST-Xbox-...2749.l2648

Here's SCP Install driver screen grab.. [Image: #!EVVDXbAb!w0HcPpdifQg9L-N_-CzgBz4UCrob3glb_Ij8Nj6WyM4]

The pads I use.. [Image: #!YVtx3A4A!z6Yhl0BCZLMUn3r0xcG6hBLBRRk_LRG7jaoGPYsh6ro]

If images are not showing - can send direct..

Another useful app that I use - Joy2key - https://joytokey.net/en/

UPDATE - ALL controls mapped through X360 controller (Analogue via Space bar - Analogue/Home give Xbox control panel). Joy2key works anyway but may need "Space" for Analogue button. PS3 controller - set analog button to "Space" or whatever you require - You'll just have to grow your arms if you sit too far away..lol

ALL the above do work apart from the analogue button (ON PAD) issue - just use space to switch via configuration/settings... EPSX uses F5 to switch analogue modes..  Dev's probably not thought about it yet... or not realised.

I just find a work-a-round and pass it on. I use/have used all the above and no issues with PCSX2 and EPSX(And all the other emulators out there - Atari 800,C64,MAME,Dolphin,etc) - too many to list but works fine with Amiga Forever too..
