You should think about getting a new Mobo if you're wanting to OC. But again: I don't know if I'll have too.

I've just checked the maximum board size for the K5-7688 case, and it seems it can fit the larger ATX boards, so I wouldn't need to worry about the price. I'll get back to this thread soon when I have more information. Best to keep this one open because it a lot of useful information that I can use when it comes to buying my system.

My cpu has a locked multiplier so even if I did swap boards I still couldn't OC.

You can OC without the multiplier you know.

You do it by manipulating the base clock. This will also OC the RAM and such, but usually you can drop the base clock/ram ratio to compensate.

Most modern boards can uncouple the base clock and pci e clock.

Like mine has an option to "Link" or "Unlink" their clocks.

That's exactly how mine is. BLCK changes a lot of different things. The most I could change my base clockspeed was from 100mhz to 105mhz. Mine has no option to unlink anything.

The AMD motherboards seem to offer a lot more features at lower price points than the Intel's.
