Maybe you should undo the "Playable" Mark for Demon Stone in the compatibility list - For you really cannot play it.

As soon as it works fine in software mode then it should remain as "Playable".

Take in count the definition of playable in the compatibility list is stated as "You can get from 'new game' to 'end credits'. This is regardless of FPS, it simply means you could with a great deal of patience, complete the game! eg: Slow, but stable!", and someone with a faster PC and maybe using frameskip may be able to play it in software just fine.
