Devil May Cry not working

I recently got PCSX2 to play the original Devil May Cry but whenever I launch the game it says that the memory card I have doesn't have game data, and shows the Capcom logo when I press start. It fades out to black and that's it. 
I run PCSX2 1.4.0 and I saw an 8 year old thread with the same issue but the fixes listed didn't work for me, any other ideas?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

I wasn't sure how much you needed so I launched PCSX2, tried to play DMC, closed it, and copy and pasted everything.

why did you name it v 1.10 ?
did you apply some patch on your game ?

I didn't name it that but I'll try getting the iso file again and see if that works.

and did you apply some patch after dumping it ?
