DirectX update/ ZeroGS error
#1
Hello.

I am new to these forums so if this has been properly answered even for my case or i didn't leave enough information then i do apologize. To start i would like to say I've spent the last half hour searching through old posts trying to see someone with a similar situation as mine. Nothing anyone has suggested in those posts was of any use to me. So i am making this to see if someone can help me.

The issue i seem to be having is updating my DX to the most recent update, which i am assuming is the August 2009_Redist to try to update but the error in the screenshot below keeps popping up telling me to refer to DXERROR.TXT . I ALSO checked my "C:\WINDOWS\system32" for d3dx_40 or any kinds.. The only one i see that is similar to those are "d3dxof.dll". There is nothing else inside the system32 folder that resembles the .dll that i guess i am supposed to have.

I have also tried doing "DXdiag" in Start -> Run. I have listed what it says below. Under the DirectX Files tab, i see that most of the files are either 2008 or 2004, majority of them are 08 though.

I am using a GEFORCE 7900 GTX, PCI-E card, it uses DX 9.0c or supposedly does. Anyways if anyone has any kind of thoughts on fixing this. It would be appreciated.

Ok 3 things:

1) If the redistributable doesn't work try with the web updater, if that still doesn't work well there is something in your PC that is not letting you update.

2) Final Fantasy VII is a PSX game, this is a PS2 emulator and if you want to play that game you will have to use a PSX emulator such as ePSXe, PCSX (not PCSX2), pSX etc...

3) Pentium 4 isn't really recommended for PCSX2 emulation.

1) Both give me the same error i posted. Do you have any guesses as to what in my PC is not letting me update? Glare I can't seem to figure it out and it is actually very annoying. Wacko

2) FF7, is a PSX game but i figured since it was a PS2 emu it might be able to load it Sad ... Guess not that's fine I'm sure i can find a PSX emu somewhere.

3) Yeah, i figured... Although i've been far too lazy/busy to upgrade/buy a new PC.
