DirectX update problem
#1
I've downloaded PCSX2 0.9.6 and tried to load up a game, but the graphics plugin keeps telling me to update my DirectX. Though when I've checked dxdiag my system is currently running DirectX 10, and the version it wants to download from Microsoft is a version 9...blah something.

Now logic says simply to just update my directX like it says, but logic also says if I install a version 9 over a version 10 that'd be downgrading, which is why I'm asking. I'm using a new laptop running Vista, which is pretty much out of the box as far as software updates go.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sigh. You have both DX9 and DX10. You don't replace anything, and you still need to update your DirectX components to later versions of DX9 and DX10. Use the web installer or download the August 2009 Redist. These are required to run the latest GSdx plugins.

Did you even search? I got over 100 threads with the exact same problem, which is also answered in the FAQ. Sad.
