PCSX2 should prevent screen saver and screen-idle-off as long as the emulation is running and the GS window is focused (should work well also in full screen). Maybe it doesn't work well with OpenGL?

@sevin, could you please try with DX11/9 as well?

Regardless of screen saver, there could be other issues specifically with OpenGL or driver issues with OpenGL since drivers are typically mostly tested and optimized with DX, while OpenGL is not very popular with Windows games, so it could also be a driver bug, possibly specific to OpenGL.

I don't think I had this until I got the new build. Previously I had a git build from 12/21 last year. If this is a screensaver issue, how would I fix it? I don't even have a screensaver.

I'll try DX11, but I think it occurs with that as well. At school at the moment, I'll test it out and report back later.

Hmm.. this is actually important. If it's a new issue (for you), then it would help greatly if you could identify the first version where it happens (i.e. find two following versions where the earlier one doesn't have the issue and the later one does).

You can download all previous versions from here http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php?m=fulllist

Yeah, that's where I've been downloading mine. I will try DX first and then start with the git builds. I'd like to keep using OGL anyways.

That's fine, but first priority is identify what causes the issue, and it'd be important to know whether or not it's limited to OpenGL (I realize you will try DX too, so thanks).

Just to be sure. Do you have the issue in native resolution?

OK, just tested and it appears not to occur in DX11. Played for 30 minutes with no issues. Still using 5x resolution.

I will try OGL at native later on today.

Alright, played with OGL at native resolution and it didn't crash in 20 minutes. That's all the time I had, I'm not totally positive it would have crashed in that time anyway. I will try again tonight.

Just want to update here and say I'm having this issue in Richard Burns Rally as well, with both OGL and DX11 hardware renderers at 3x resolution. It seems to be totally random, I can't figure out any settings that may be causing it besides the resolution upscaling. Sometimes it doesn't happen in 30 minutes of me playing it, other times it happens twice in a couple of minutes.

I guess I can start going through the git builds at some point, but the crashing seems to occur pretty randomly now on 3x res.
