How much were you planning on spending? And would a laptop work as well as a tablet for you?

We all have those days. Let's just put this all behind us. Anyways, is weight a big factor for you?

I was originally planning on spending no more than $100~$200 on a cheap windows tablet. All I wanted was to read visual novels on my bed but then I got this idea for portable PSCX2 emulation, then came trying to justify it with my utility needs so the price kept climbing and now I'm looking at a surface pro 4.

It doesn't help that my 9 year old ASUS laptop just died this morning(a few minutes ago) and I am using a really old PC now with USB wireless internet, this PC is on the verge of going as well but I want to keep this one as a back up so right now so I don't want to use it too much.

@dogen
I am torn between lenovo laptop/2-in-1's and microsoft surface pro 4, for the same price of a surface pro I can get a lenovo yoga with a dedicated gpu, higher performance at a lower price point yet without the form factor and ergonomics of the surface pro tablet that makes it ideal for bed reading/usage and portability.

So it's between this

or was it this one?

vs this?

The lenovo is probably the best pick as it has twice the ram and storage and a gpu almost twice as fast, even though the processor is a bit slower.

I didn't know about this yet, I was looking at the Yoga 700, thanks for putting me onto this. I will look into this device.

you might acutally be get able to get away with a sp3 running in software mode. The sp3 is pretty close to my older i3 with integrated graphics and that does ff12 in software mode, no video scaling well enough to be playable. SotC.. thats probably gonna fail, but the rest might be doable man.

I doubt it'll handle most games in software. FF12 is really light.
