Dot Hack// GU Rebirth Undub question
#1
Hello all.

I have a question concerning my copy of .hack GU Rebirth.

I loved how the first 4 came with japanese and english audio. I prefer to play games based in their native tongs. However, GU dropped this feature.

I HATE when the English speakers have that un-natural pause in between statements, and when they try to pronounce japanese names. Its butchered to all hell.

I saw some videos on youtube from a few different people showing japanese audio and english subtitles. I heard mention of Something called Undub and an Undub patch, however further research has yeilded nothing but dead ends and dead links.

Is there something I'm missing, or do I have to accept dealing with cruddy voice acting to stick it though to the end?

Ah, so I'd need to get my hands on a japanese version of it, eh?

Then basically, overwrite the audio files with the japanese files?

hm...And patching with Apache, to my understanding, Apache is a off-net webhost software that allows one to develop websites with a fake url...

I'm going to guess its a different Apache Tongue

This girl has an accent "Gozaru" like a ninja, but English subs don't reflect it.
I don't know how to express it in English.Smile

By the way, I think Persona 3 and 4's old English like "Thou" is a very good translation with a dignity.

Yeah, the Gozaru is somewhat out of place in the english translation, this is what I meant in OP, I happen to understand a bit of japanese, but not enough on the writing side to play though a game like this, while at the same time enjoying the storyline. The english subs give me that rough understanding of what the majority means, Where the japanese audio gives me a more specific picture to elaborate further on where the english didn't touch bases.

She is speaking politely to a "younger" player, hence the use of Gozaru-yo, And that is pretty much the missing "information" is in english, which is a more subtle tone variance, which in voice acting is more portrayed as "ignorance"

Well, I'm off to search for a Japanese copy, Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping there would be a patch like Kingdom Hearts II FM :/. Ah well.

Happy Gaming!
