May not be needed. I'd say his i5 is on par, if not better, than my Phenom and I never touched the EE/VU stuff. It is worth trying, just not sure if it would do very much.

DQ8, from what I remember, is a GPU heavy game so that will be a major bottleneck.

And how much of a difference does the 8-bit textures make? Always had it on and never really tested it throughly.

Got that Just wanted to chime in on the CPU thing because the EE/VU stuff may give some troubles that can be avoided.
