Dragon Quest 8 help
#1
Okay I have looked around a bit and the threads I have seen on this don't really pertain to my system seeing as how its not a laptop or anything. Anyway I am playing DQ8 for the first time ever, and i would like to achieve the best possible specs, I used some recommended ones I found with someone playing on 1080p but they were running 1.1.0 and I am running 1.0.0 but i have read 1.1.0 isn't supposed to be a released version? I don't know but I am wondering is that my problem? So my problem is that the intro works fine, but once the first cut scene ends and the actual game starts i drop to 13 fps or less, it is insane. so im running these specs,

Allow 8-bit textures
WildArmsOffset Hack first state
Internal Resolution: 2048x1792 (4x native, which in this case is 512x448)
Recommended speed hacks on, MTVU on
Automatic Game Fixes on

That's what I have on along with interlacing on auto with Direct11 from GSDX 5334.

Now my hardware Specs are as follows:
This is a custom build by the way
Windows 7 64 bit ultimate
Intel core i7 3770K @ 3.5 GHz
Asus Maximus V Formula Mobo
Samsung 840 250 GB SSD
Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon 7970 GHz edition 3GB

If you guys could help I would appreciate everything, if it is a simple update thing then that would be great and I could use some download links for the new versions. I don't think its a hardware issue. Please and Thanks Guys

Try 3x IR as this game is heavy on the graphics card (at least on my system, which is pretty powerful). I would also disable any AA if you have it. I dont use 8-bit textures or the Wild Arms Offset hack and I have no issues with this game.

For whatever reason the cutscenes in this game can be very demanding. you will want to overclock your processor and graphics card if you want high settings.

Okay thanks it is working fine, I left 8 bit on but I went to 3x and it runs great at 60fps almost solid int he first few minutes. Thanks, and I have been putting off my OCing until I get a good CPU cooler im using stock right now, I don't need to overclock my CPU as of yet since nothing uses it except this haha This is just my gaming comp, I am looking at the H100i, I see you have the H100, you like it?

Love it. My first one was getting old so I bought another one. Keeps my CPU cool even at 4.7 GHz

I love my Xigmatek Dark Knight Night Hawk Edition Cooler, it brought my CPU Temp from 58-60 to 30-34 degrees celcius Smile
