Dragon quest viii help

Hey guys. Problem with dragon quest is that no texts appear on the text bubbles at all. It runs smoothly and all but there's just no text appearing.

tried direct3D9 and 10 (hardware), tweaked with the speedhacks, basically just tried everything I could think of.

why are you using such an old svn ?
try using latest stable or latest svn instead

it was old? just got it from my friend and all other games (ffxii, Tales of abyss) been working fine. well thnx anyway. imma try it first

Also if you are using Savestates, load your last memcard save.

it's only a 2 months old+ svn anyway pls. post a screenshot of your GSdx settings.

and you might try use the AVX edition of GSdx instead of SSE2

Still trying to download a newer svn though. ill see if it will work.

wow it really worked after downloading a newer svn. wow. anyway thanks guys really been a help. though during the open field where the character is controlled fps goes to 30~40 ish

That's because Dragon Quest VIII is very gpu demanding. Your IGPU is pretty weak. You can try going below native resolution, but it will look horrible.

yeah well expected that since i'm just using a laptop (not sure if its BECAUSE its a laptop) oh well at least its still playable. thanks again guys!
