I can't find any setting that will work. I can't skip the cinematic before the freeze happens either.

Thank you so much. It works now. I'm not sure how to apply the widescreen patch though. Also, I'm getting speed drops down to about 50%, is there anything I can do about it?

Edit: About the speed, it turned out I'd forgotten to select my graphics card.

There's an option in system where you only to click "Enable Widescreen Hack". Try clicking it.

Dropship United Peace Force is indeed now playable but ONLY in software mode. Hardware mode makes the bottom half of the gameplay look like it's either melting or hallucinating all at once. I know theses things take time to sort out (and I thank you all for your time). Will hardware mode be the next thing to work on for this game?
