Dualshock needed?
#1
I just recently got a hold of PCSX2 and decided to try and run the original Ape Escape with it.  However when I boot up the game, I only see "The DualShock Analog controller is required to play this game" and some glitchy text(?) that overlaps the message while a 10 second loop of music plays.  I have gone in and verified that the xbox 360 controller i have is mapped in the Config settings as a Dualshock 2 controller but this has not helped.  Anybody know what I need to do to fix this?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):
[code]
Pasted emulog goes here
[ /code]
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

I'm gonna be straight with you, chief. Half of what you are asking for is too much for my pea brain so here is a copy and paste of the most recent entry from Documents\PCSX2\emuLog. This should be from when I started the game to when I shut it down.

Did you try to run a PS1 game? Thing is, PS1 emulation on PCSX2 is still at it's infancy, basically not for daily use.
Use something like DuckStation or Mednafen (or something "outdated" like ePSXe/PCSXR) to emulate it instead

I was afraid someone might say that...
