Emulation stops when pressing start instead of pausing

Whenever i attempt to pause my game by pressing start it just stops the emulation all together. Can someone give me a fix for this?

• Any non default settings you are using.

hardware: i5 4590, gtx 1060 6Gb, 8GB of Ram, windows 10
I am using 1.4.0 at the moment
I am running everything at default settings
This issue happens with any game I play
Please help me fix this.
