Error: GSdx-sse2 - Please update DirectX!
#1
On attempt to run any PS2 title ('File'\'Run CD\DVD') GSdx-sse2 requests I update DirectX, then asks me whether or not I'd like to be directed to "the [DirectX] download page in [my] browser".

[Yes] simultaneously opens http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en and prompts Pcsx2 to throw the following error:

Pcsx2 Msg
An unhandled or unrecoverable exception occurred, with the message:

The GS plugin failed to open/initialize.

Pcsx2 will now close. More details may be available via the emulog.txt file.

[OK]

[No] gets the error immediately. Either way, clearing the Pcsx2 error prompts PCSX2 to quit.

I saw references made to window-size issues, speed, etc by users of 64 bit OS. I assume PCSX2 can work with 64 bit Windows. But I don't get to the point of loading anything. On clicking Run CD\DVD the first dialogue comes up immediately.

All of PCSX's configuration tests succeed (including the GS one). What am I missing?

I forgot to mention a couple things:

I downloaded GSdx-r1161.7z at about 12:45 today. (http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-3031.html)

I actually DID run the DX9 update (though I still don't know why I'd be updating DX9 in 64 bit Vista). I just counted on Vista to ignore anything that couldn't logically be applied as an update.

Anyway, DX is updated (?) and GS is still looking for a DX update.

And if that doesn't help - you didn't actually update anything Wink

I have the exact same problem. It fails with both the version of GDsx that came with the program and the updated version.

No. I've never seen that dialogue box.

Let me know if you want me to send you any configurational info. I can send screens of settings, etc.

Sadly, no. I'm afraid that affected no change. Attached is a screenshot of what I see when it fails.
