Even with a new rig, I'm still unable to play Shadow of Colossus smoothly! :-(

hmmm could be, but man his videos look legit!! Blink

Aha, didn't know that!
But usually, when Pcsx2 shows 60fps the gameplay is smooth!

Man this game is very strange! yet it is one of best PS2 games and one of my all time favorites!

The videos ARE legit, in fact the auto speed up is the default when using the internal GSdx recorder...

I haven't read the thread, but if you never played SotC on PS2, I'll tell you this: this game is choppy (sometimes smooth, sometimes choppy) even on ps2, so possibly your comp actually emulates it full speed.

Well, from some floating benchmarks, Ivy Bridge would be more power efficient, comes with way better GPU, but not THAT way more powerful processing wise!

Check this out (Note the CPU bars in the graphs):
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Benchma...14144.html

Around 15% more (pure CPU processing).

Im not holding my breath, especially for SOC! Wink

But, lets wait and see Smile
