FF12 boss frame problems on high end PC!
#1
Sad
Hello everyone! I've been playing FF12 IZJS on the emulator for 1 week now on 3840x2560(4k) resolution! Everything was going right until I realized that my frames dip horribly when fighting bosses and when using quickenings(Lots of graphical effects in those) then sometimes, textures get replaced in an annoying manner by the color black, I tried changing resolution from custom to 6x native, the black lines disappear so I'll keep the 6x, but the lag still persists at bosses and when using quickenings and because they require precise timing and the game's speed is dependent on its FPS then I suffer when using them, I really wish I can fix that as this lag ruins the epic boss fights and general gameplay!

I would really appreciate it if someone knows of a patch that removes the connection between FPS and the game's mechanics, I run the game at 60FPS, but the game is locked at 30 anyways, but even with that... When my FPS goes below 60, the game's speed goes down!

Specs:
CPU: AMD Fx-8350
GPU: Gtx 960 2gb vRAM
RAM: 8gb
Monitor: 1080P 60hz

Its always good just to tick all options in gsdx plugin settings....

What happens if you play at native? Do you get the same framedrops?

What happens if you enable all recommended speedhacks?

Why would you even play at 6x native?

Because he have powerful gpu and think he can do whatever he want.
Try disabling FXAA and lower the scaling a little

I get steady 60FPS on native, no frame drops at bosses or quickenings at all yet obviously the image quality goes down badly. As for turning on all GDSX settings, I cannot turn on 8-bit textures because it causes the game menus to slow down badly, I actually read that you should turn it off for FF12.

I tried enabling all the recommended speed hacks with 6x native and the L1 IZJS speed up mode turned A LOT smoother(A problem I didn't mention) yet the quickenings still cause lag, even worse than before.

Turn off FXAA and lower the resolution to 3-4xnative.

Uh... After I turned down to native and saw that I didn't lag it just naturally came to my mind that the GPU is unable to keep up so I lowered to 4x and now it doesn't lag! Pretty much your solution xD
Really, my bad for overkilling the settings, got carried away with my GPU xD

Enable the three recommended speedhacks. And as the others have said drop the scaling to 3x-4x seeing as how some of the effects in this game are insanely GPU demanding.
