FFVII PS1 crash on config menu

I recently acquiesced my save files, and even tested it with a new game. Opening the menu and selecting "config" automatically crashes PCSX2. Help? D:

GPU:AMD RX 570 8gb GDDR5
CPU:Ryzen 3 1200
OS:Win 10 Pro 64
Memory:16gb HyperX DDR4@2600

not sure FFVII is compatible with pcsx2.
PS1 emulation is still in its early stages

Best to stick with a PS1 emulator.
