Firstly thanks to Rezard's advice I saw in another thread. I can make this issue disappear with it.

(toggle with F9 while in-game)

But really toggling the software renderer on only makes the rest of the game look so much uglier compared to this. So I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with resolving something like this without resorting to software rendering? An example of what I am talking about is below. This happens not only in menus, but also in battles and even to an extent during the opening credits.

I've tried tweaking a few things but I don't know why it's like that. When I was last playing this game emulated about a year ago with this computer I had none of these problems. I have since updated some drivers and emulator version which may be factoring into it but I honestly have no idea.

For reference I'm running with
Win 7 Pro 64bit
i5 2500k @ stock clocks
8GB ram
AMD Radeon HD 6950 2GB

Does anyone have any idea what could be up here?

apart from using native resolution, there's no other way.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Aw, really? That's disappointing... It seems MSAA hardware hacks also cause issues too.

What's strange though is that I could have sworn that I was running his game at above native resolution when I was last playing a year ago. Perhaps I was mistaken or is there some other way to avoid this issue?

There is no known fix for it for years.

Well I guess I'll probably have to put up with it then. Thinking about it now that last time I was playing this I didn't yet have my graphics card so I was probably running on software mode then hence me not remembering this.

I would really love if there were a way to fix this. Could a patch or something be constructed somehow? I would love to help out if I can. It seems SE has been slacking off on working on their HD version.

I am thankful though that I can at least play this game.

Just to be sure I'm not missing anything. But there isn't anyway to make the game look better without causing issues while using software rendering?

Ah, well it would seem I didn't even look hard enough to see if anyone else has encountered this problem. It does indeed seem to be a common question that has been asked many times before and even had other attempts at finding a fix. Blush
