2. Well obviously without the nloop hack the emulator is rendering about half the textures, it is pretty normal you get a big speed hit.
3. What GSdx reports in its' bar is the usage of your GPU in the second cpu core. To see your actual CPU % usage,open task manager and check the performance tab.
I highly suggest you use the latest beta, it has many speed boosts compared to 0.9.6
