FFX problem (right one)
#21
you say that CPU might not be ok to run FFX, or PCSX2 or whatever.

I can play Fallout 3 with every settings @ ultra high or something like else, 1280x1024 and get something like more than 80fps.

The console doesn't show anything weird..

we didint said your CPU is too slow, we said it might be malfunctioning, thats why we are asking you for temperatures.

1. make an iso of the game and play it from iso.
2. tell us what are your CPU temperatures when its under stress ( use Core Temp or HWMonitor to measure your temperatures).
3. make a screenshot of your whole task manager with a "processes" tab and post it here. ( because we would want to know if anything is eating up your CPU power to do its own calculations )

I have exactly the same problem with FFX. It "might" run in the mid 40's at best, otherwise it dips into the 30's.

All of the possible issues people immediately point to in this sort of situation have been checked, rechecked, and removed from the list of possibilities (for the most part). Beats the hell out of me what might be left...

i have a similar setup like you and it runs smooth at maxspeed so i post u my settings:

Phenom II X3 720 @3ghz
Ati Radeon 4850 1024mb
4gb ram
win7

I use Beta r1888, with plugins that came with the beta (gsdx 1873)

-GSdx(SSE2 coz of my AMD, u could at least use SSE3 or even 4.1 i guess) in directx 10 mode (big difference in fps to dx9 for me)
-3*native internal res ->1536*1248
-Texture Filter on, all other options disabled (8bit texture, wait sync, output merger blur)
-@CPU settings i have the microVU things disabled, rest is ticked.
