FFXII - Draw distance/Texture pop in
Is there any way I can increase draw distance or lower texture pop ins?

Also, does "shade boost" affect performance?
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Quad Core @ 3.6GHz

No to both questions. The game is coded to do that and shade boost is just a simple color shader.
I've been asking myself this question as well.
there might be a way to change this by patching the renderer. 
as far as I noticed the game has 3 LOD levels/layers and the distance between them is very low.
