FFXII Zodiac Job System

Ok so I was wondering why my GPU usage rockets up to 99% while in menus but when playing it stays at 20%. This seems to happen on all resolutions from native to 6x native. Is this a bug with the game? It plays fine I never drop below 60 (at 6x native) it's just annoying because my fan goes crazy and the temps fly up to 70ish C then back down when I exit menus.

Specs: FX-6350 @4.2Ghz and Radeon 7950 @900Mhz 1250Mhz.

I've a similar, slightly slower system(in my signature) and this does not happen to me(not 100% anyway, see edit below). I imagine you aren't using any speedhacks.

I took these screenshots just now, and I do notice way higher usage in the menu than the game itself(I took two shots because I wasn't sure if you meant the main menu or the action menu:

I looked it up, the 7870 and 7950 are very similar in terms of overall performance.

My heavy overclock probably makes my 7870 faster than your 7950 stock. As such, I'm gonna say it's probably somewhat normal. My custom fan curve keeps my GPU near 100% if it's engaged at all, but my fan is quiet as hell fortunately.

Yeah it seems to just be the game, it doesn't happen in any other FF game that I play or any other game for that matter. I use to have my 7950 OCed at 1200Mhz and 1500Mem but way to much heat, was pushing 85C somtimes, way too high for me.

Edit: Ah nevermind it seems that the picture helps hide most of the pixelation on the text.

Edit: How did you get your text like that? Whenever I play on any res my ingame/menu text is all distorted and pixelated. I am using an ASUS VS247 23.6 Inch LED monitor if that makes any sort of difference, at least I think it was the VS. Is there some sort of option to help clear that up? Or where you running it at native resolution?

Those shots are at 6x resolution. Do you have texture filtering on? Here are my GS settings:

My monitor is a 17" Hanns.G HW173 @ 1440x900, 75 Hz

Yeah I took a picture at 6x native and I noticed that most of the pixelation was gone. I also have that on along with 8-bit textures and skipdraw 1 to get rid of the ghosting/double image problem on FFX. Anywho seems to just be an issue with FFXII thanks for the help.

Don't leave HW hacks on unless you need it. I.e. don't leave your FFX hacks on for FFXII. For instance I have to set Skipdraw = 1 and TC offset Y to 1000 for xenosaga, and if I forget and leave it on and switch games, things will be missing or screwed up!
