FPS Drops in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
#1
Hoping the great Preet or anyone with good knowledge can help me out here as I'm experiencing some FPS drops from 60 FPS to 50 or even below here and there throughout the game so far.

Example: Near the beginning during the 'Struggle Tournament', the moment I would immediately engage on the enemy my FPS would begin to drop from 60 to 40ish FPS.

PC Specs:
Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M370 @ 2.40GHz
4.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 310M

PCSX2 version 1.0.0

Emulation Settings: Preset - 6
GS: SSE4

1 - this game can be quite demanding in terms of GPU, and yours is weak.
2 - Your CPU is a bit under the par for this game too

This is NOT a good idea. Enable only recommended speedhacks (manually), and set ee cycle rate to 1 as a start.
if it's still not enough, report back, and try experimenting with ee cycle rate & vu cycle stealing sliders 1 by 1

Alright so I left both sliders at 1 and everything seems normal now. However when I defeat a boss and the slow-mo scene proceeds to follow my FPS does drop to 40 so I was wondering if that was a common problem or should i continue to test the sliders?

Most bosses when dying, are dying is some dramatic way with lots of effects Tongue2 and those effects most of the time need more power from your cpu\gpu

Thank you for your great comment & everyone in this thread too Tongue
Ok using preset to 6 is really not a good idea
u'r graphic card is weak point here
This game is quite demanding,ok i see from u'r cpu side
clock rate is low,but not a big problem
u can run it at playable speeds
so don't except much from u'r system

set extra rendering threads to 2 in video plugin setting
run u'r game with software mode F9
any difference u see ?
if fps is low in software mode too
then use hardware mode for now in native resolution
tick-untick allow 8 bit textures (see which is better)
half tick texture filtering Blue dot
enable reccommended speedhacks first
still slow,increase ee & vu to 2
any difference ?
