FPS Drops on all games
#1
Hi Guys,

I am getting these FPS drops on all my games.

Fraps reports less than a 10% drop but it feels like it drops to <10 FPS every few seconds. It also distorts the sound terribly and messes with games that require good timing.

I have no idea what is causing it. I have speedhacks totally disabled. EE & VU never goes higher than 70%.

I have disabled V-Sync in Pcsx2 and Nvidia Control Panel.

It doesn't matter if i'm playing native or 4x. Happens in both games which i have tried (Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4) & (God Of War I)

I have tried the lastest Git build and also reverted to the last stable build. Exactly the same.

Also there are no strange entries on the log

There is no option in bios to disable Inte speed step guessing cause it's a laptop but i tried Throttlestop. No change.

It is a laptop but it's set to High performace mode and it is plugged in.

I have tried everything i can think of.

These dips really take me out of the game and i can't understand why it is happening.

Please Help

Tried with enabled/disabled MTVU hack ? Please provide the content of your GSDX.ini file.

If you experience the same problem on the latest stable build it's most likely some frequent bursts of background processes. Just for clarification, do you experience this problem only on these two games ?

Ps: Sorry, I'm on my mobile right now. No support for rar files.

How else can I upload it?

I just tried Suikoden IV and it has the same problem.

This is the GSDX.ini for the stable build. exactly the same problem though.

@Donovan24

could you monitor your CPU and RAM usage during the dips at taskmanager ? also, make sure to have a look at the background processes and check whether there is anything resource demanding present, This is most likely a problem on your system's resource usage.

How about the power plan(Control Panel=>type power in the search at the upper right).
Check to see if it's set to High Performance(try setting it to that mode if it's not)
