Just for the hell of it, I even tried PCSX2 1.1.0.r5760 - compiled on Nov 12 2013 version, and that too had the film grain.
Could it really be that that one Youtuber just happened to have a version that for some unknown reason didn't have the film grain, or had an option to remove it? When the film grain was present even in the 2013 and 2016 stable versions and several current development builds (I tried 4)? Must have been one magical version.
Or is it possible that he was using some external shader that had this ability? Could external shaders do that?
*And just in case. I know the film grain is supposed to be there.

Well, I didn't know that the buildbot stored development builds all the way back to 2016-12-17 which is only 18 days newer then the 2016-11-29 version that didn't have or could remove film grain. Unfortunately the 18 days newer version also has film grain. So, either that 2016-11-29 version was truly unique version, or the pcsx2 version has nothing to do with removing or not displaying the film grain.
