Fast-Forward Speed is Not Working?
#1
Hi,

I am testing the Nightly Build: pcsx2-v1.7.5063-windows-x64-Qt

I run it in default settings; didn't change anything; but the Fast-Forward Speed is not working.
I tried enabling and disabling speed limiter; changed the percentage speed in normal mode / fast forward mode.
Using tab button or F4 or period, I can see the icons toggled; but the frame rate just locks on 60fps max.

On the other hand, Slow-Motion Speed works fine. I can go low but can't go higher.

Is Fast-Forward Speed not working for now? Or there is a setting I need to change?

I am using Desktop PC Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-5820K and GeForce RTX 3090.
I try to get logs, but no log is generated; I assume because nothing is breaking?

Thanks.

Update: When I test on my cheap old laptop, the Fast Forward works fine. Any ideas? Is this not compatible with GeForce RTX 3090? Or perhaps the Intel Core which doesn't have any integrated graphics?

You can enable logging under Tools>Enable File Logging.

Turbo works fine for me here spot testing few games on 3060 ti, so I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe you got some patches/cheats enabled that lock you in?

I downloaded a fresh file and did not change any settings. So everything should be running in default setting.
Added my log file.

I tried to press period and tab keys to toggle on and off to fast-forward for 11 times and it seems to log v-sync on and off 11 times as well in my logs. Not sure if that is expected when trying to use fast forward? I see some logs about old value? Not sure if that is related?

Anyway, I am running the emulator with default settings.

Confirmed!
Force-enabling Vsync in nvidia settings 'disables' turbo mode.

Thanks everyone! Turning Vsync off in Nvidia global settings fixed it.

I guess we cannot have Vsync on in Nvidia settings?

With how fast monitors and other hardware are nowadays there's no real reason to force Vsync globally instead of letting apps decide. I've generally left global defaults as defaults and tweaked per-application settings if it was needed. At the very least it avoids unexpected behaviors like the situation above.
