Fast cut scenes but slow game? Good specs

Hi just downloaded this thing today and im having trouble getting it configured correctly. with frame limiter off im hitting right around 200-300FPS but the GS keeps maxing its self out and I dont know why. Here are my PC specs.

AMD fx-6300 processor
Graphics card: radeon r9 270
RAM: 16GB hyperX fury (1866)

I know I should be able to run most games easily but dont know whats happening. oh and the game Im trying to play is need for speed most wanted if that helps!

What kind of emulation settings do you use? Manual gamefixes? Slider speedhacks?
Try disabling mtvu and check if that helps.

What happens if you upscale the internal resolution to 2x native? What happens at 3xnative? Upscaling is mostly gpu intense. If you have a gpu bottleneck you will directly observe slowdowns.

You can check if ticking 8-bit textures helps or worsens the situation.
A nicely working speedhack gpu-wise is the HW hack skipdraw. It removes some effects. If you are gpu bottlenecked a value between 1-10 in gsdx hw hacks can yield higher fps by removing possibly bad emulated effects. Keep in mind to check the hw hacks checkbox as well to enable usage of advanced hw hacks.

You GS is killing you right now. I don't know much about radeons since the X800 XT. My games slowdown pretty badly when my GS gets to 80-90% You CPU is okay at best as well.

also dont have any of the gamefixes enabled and ticking 8-bit textures changes nothing really.

Internal resolution is set under 'Or use scaling:' in the gsdx plugin settings. You first need to untick 'Native' and then select the according value in the combobox.

As I said I would suggest to increase load on the gpu -> increase internal res, then decrease the load on the gpu -> native res + skipdraw. If you observe on one settings a speedup and on the other a slowdown that it is 100% confirmed that you are bottlenecked by your gpu.

Your speedhacks are quite aggressive and can fake fps and ee% readings. Can you please put both sliders down and monitor fps, ee%, gs% (,vu%) values both using and not using mtvu?
