Maybe better, but not "way better" also it doesn't affect your speed here. Especially not with native res. Intel cpu's are simply better for pcsx2, also currently pcsx2 only uses 2 cores(or 3 in svn build but it divided previous "EE" thread soo probably no speedup for you - limited by GS) and frequency is far more important than amount of cores.
And yes he does OC, but soo what? It is nearly 2x better in the end than what you have. You can always OC your cpu too, if that bothers you...
