File cannot be created..... Please help
#1
I just downloaded 1.0.0 and I have had some trouble getting my game to run. I have tried running as administrator and it still gives me an error message that that the file scph39001.nvm can not be created. I would really appreciate any help on this matter. The log ran as follows:

don't instal pcsx2 in program files but more in a custom flder like c:\pcsx2.
and make sure you run it as admin
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

Just by avoiding that "blessed" C:\Program Files... there is no need to run as administrator anymore.

To the OP, take it as a learning, reinstalling PCSX2 is ease and simple, just imagine having to reinstall a game like, let's say Skyrim, mainly after loading it with mods.

So, from today on, avoid installing any game at those Windows "protected" folders, even Steam allows installing elsewhere nowadays (for that very reason).

I did all of that and it is still giving me the same error message. Log runs as following:

At this point, whatever caused access rights issues on the Documents folder may be still in place. One solution would be enabling access directly at the security tab for each folder, but maybe making PCSX2 really portable is the easiest way.

To do so create an empty txt file at the PCSX2 main folder called portable.txt, afterward rename it to change the extension so it becomes portable.ini.

Move or copy the bios folder (with the BIOS inside, of course) to inside the main folder and run the emulator. It will redo all that initial reconfiguration but afterwards you should not have problems anymore. Once it is done, move the saves and memcards folders from the Documents iinto the new main PCSX2 folder. And the Cheats folder also, case you have some.

Edit: Actually reading the log, seems you are attempting to run the game from the original DVD or a virtual drive, the recommendation is ripping an ISO from it using Imgburn program and running from it.

Make sure "Iso" and not "plugin" is active on the CDVD tab and select the ISO from the "Iso Selector" at the CDVD menu.

Once that's done, run the game from the System tab using the fast boot.

From the log became clear the emulator is not finding a valid game to run.

Hi, I am having a similar problem while trying to play Disgaea 2.

I've performed all the steps that you've suggested, and I'm pasting my console log below.
