The electromigration is not directly related to frecuency. It depends mainly on voltage, frecuency and temperature (in that order).
But in the case you maintain the stock voltage, 3.9GHz is VERY high for a CPU. It will dye soon.

As they said. CPU frecuency is not a measure of its power.

PD: 200+ fps in any game is near imposible, because of the phisical limits of the emulation. And GPUs.

actually temps are the number one even if you OC or not.... its recommended even in full usage not to go over 70!!! for long cpu life and good performance also.

as for volts if you use the stock ones you can OC as much as you want cause even if it affects the cpu life the affection is so small that it will not make any difference (like the cpu dying in 7 years or 6... almost no difference cause by then you will have a new one or 2 Tongue )

Yup only two things can really kill a cpu is volts and heat. More volts = more heat and the inclusion of on die memory controller make that controller easier to fry.

Voltage also increases current signal strength, which means more electrons in the stream thus with increased capability to shred the gates and integrated circuits of the chip apart completely.

By the way, PCSX2 0.9.6. seems to be more reliable, it allows an even greater EE speedhack and it also happens to run the game full speed, I just need a better sound plugin than what I'm using.

Divine 0.1.15 works better than ZeroGS or GSDX. (:

PCSX2 0.9.6. manages 60 FPS without eating so much CPU, so I definitely love it! I'm using the speedhacks and if I use frameskip I shouldn't get slowdowns anywhere besides certain special effects or the campfire scene (or game intro)

On second thought... nevermind? Like 35 FPS in a fight right now. Might be the EE hack.

The display plugin your using determines what statistics are displayed.

I'm using Divine 0.1.15. You can get it here since it isn't widely available like it should be: *removed*

It's in Japanese but it's the same options as GSDX so just transfer those over. It happens to render almost all the textures and effects in FFX without any glitching or slowdown. Laugh

VU cycle stealing reduces CPU usage for emulation of the emotion engine and instead devotes it for rendering (display plugin) and can make a difference of 10-15 frames.

Also breaks the game later on if you have it set more than moderate (moderate will cause a few problems already).

And please don't post unofficial builds here.
