Final Fantasy XII crashes when I try to use a patch
#1
Hi, as the thread title states every time I try to use a patch with Final Fantasy XII I get a vtlb miss : addr 0x7855673, mode 1 error and pcsx2 0.9.6 crashes and I've already tested it on the 0.9.7 beta and it's the same thing. I used LCISO and Alcohol to make my image and I've used them on other games with no problems. I've already finished the game but I would like to try out some of the patches on this site. Please help.

What kind of patch?

Maybe your patch is wrong, post the content of the patch and your version of the game.

This is the patch I used which I added to with decrypted codebreaker 10 codes (as per the guide on this forum for creating patches)

gametitle=Final Fantasy XII [SLUS 20963] [0779FBDB]
//Infinite Gil
patch=1,EE,3287AA76,extended,49CDB54D
//Max Gil
patch=1,EE,8ACAC439,extended,2C681F04
//Infinite HP
patch=1,EE,BB979AE2,extended,BE6D045E
patch=1,EE,8891075D,extended,EED486F9
//Max Infinite HP
patch=1,EE,27855673,extended,0214EB65
patch=1,EE,8EF4D55B,extended,4D97863D
patch=1,EE,8891075D,extended,EED486F9
//Infinite MP
patch=1,EE,76432505,extended,3869E15B
patch=1,EE,5EC76955,extended,6BC5486C
patch=1,EE,3B46552D,extended,ABCD84B2
patch=1,EE,B0815DDB,extended,5B0CC2E0
//Max LP Gained (After Battle)
patch=1,EE,156AF632,extended,C801795B
//Max Chocobo Time
patch=1,EE,C0B8D754,extended,B5FD0E24

I will try to make another patch and see if I get the same problem

EDIT: I'm using the NTSC version. (SLUS-20963)

EDIT: EDIT: Found the source of the problem. The Infinite HP and MP codes and the LP and Chocobo codes either weren't decrypted properly or PCSX2 didn't know how to handle them. I'll look around for some that work. Thanks guys!

All those cheats still look encrypted Tongue

Try using another decryption method with the program you used, if CB2crypt for example check/uncheck the "common v7 encryption" option. What's the original cheats codes?

I know the second batch are. I put them up as a compairison to the ones I had made.

Thanks so much Shadow Lady! Everything works perfectly!!

Note to self: check "common v7 encryption" ON from now on for everything.

Thanks again to you and everyone that posted here.LaughBiggrinSmile

Not everything, depending on the code version it can have the opposite effect. Just try both :P
