First time user needing help with Kingdom Hearts FPS drops.

Hey all, I have just downloaded PCSX2 1.2.1 and when I got to the cutsene on Destiny Island where Sora, Riku, and Kari are talking about the world beyond the island and what they are going to do there, it would randomly bounce between 8 and 60 fps every so often, other then setting up my controller and turning off the "Backup before save" option in the system tab, I haven't changed any settings. Please help!

press F9 during this scene. then press it again after it finishes.

what does the f9 key do, and will the fix work if this happens in another cutsene?

probably.there are 1 or 2 demanding custcenes in the whole game anyways

Those cutscenes are after day one on the island and the second is after beating the boss to gain access to the cave of wonders.
