get the modern CPU

SBP Gxxx CPU may able to run it at decent speeds and it's less than 100 chits.

probably, if you play your cards right. an i3 has multiple cores you can take advantage of

You'd be impressed by the amount of overclocking you can do on a laptop if it has a good cooling system. Take mine for example.
