and I am a new user and can't load rom's using .bin files

what are elf files?

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

I'm using 2.4gb AMD with 2gig DDR Ram I think I have a gig geforce nividia graphics card on windows xp sp3 trying to play iso's hitman, resident evil, strider, does this play psx games??

I'm using pcsx 0.9.8

If that 2GB of RAM is in fact standard DDR,
and not even DDR2,
then I can already tell your processor is old and slow for PCSX2.

The exact model name could confirm this.
Or if it is just a single core...

That memory error is not an issue.
The ISOs could be.
Have you tried the discs?

pcsx2 is NOT for playing PS1 games.
